1941

Young Life begins in the USA

In a town in Texas, at the request of his pastor, a young associate pastor named Jim Rayburn began showing young people how much God cares about them by showing up in their world and sharing the message of God's love through Jesus in ways and words they could understand and relate to.

2000

Moving east

YoungLives starts to spring up in the East Coast.

1990

youngLives begins

Several regions started ministries for teen moms in the early 1990s—one in CA and one in WA state—which soon developed into YoungLives, Young Life’s ministry to teen moms.

Since 2020

Brooklyn YoungLives is Born

YoungLives in Brooklyn was born in March 2020, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic! Miraculously, we were able to connect with over 50 teen moms by solidifying a team of women dedicated to walking alongside and committing themselves to mentorship. Though Brooklyn Central Young Life has grown to reach many types of students, our mission to introduce teens to the life-altering love of Jesus will continue to stay the same.
